This set comes with one all new character, but it’s an underwhelming choice, and the repacks/repaints choices are also fairly lame.įirst, we get another Rey. The TFA Takodana set came with Maz Kanata, and the even better RO Jedha set came with Saw Gerera and Edrio Two Tubes. Previous iterations of this format came with at least one all new and somewhat desirable figure. When it was first leaked/reported that this Battle on Crait set was on the way, we probably were hoping for that Luke to be included. One possible exception is Force Projection Luke. But otherwise, the figures were rather lame, and there didn’t seem to be too many characters that fans were looking for, (even with low expectations for the line).
R2-D2 was on par with a collector-grade offering, and Princess Leia Organa was a beautiful sculpt that probably benefitted from under-articulation. Paige was about as awesome as a 5POA figure could be. Many of the characters were very similar to their TFA counterparts. The designs were uninspired, and the colors were drab. While vehicles and deluxe type offerings were generally a step above their predecessors for TFA and Rogue One, the basic figure line lacked pop appeal. For collectors, casual buyers, and possibly even Hasbro, TLJ 5POA figures seem to rank pretty low on the desireability scale.
